Belief assets

Select Follow trade on a Belief to buy its assets. If you already hold the Belief’s assets, or you launched the Belief, the same action reads Buy more. The minimum is $1; the first purchase at launch buys $50 of assets.

ItemMeaning
Maximum total debitThe most this signature can take from your cash, all fees included.
Each assetThe budget for that asset, and the chain it is on.
Cross-chain transfer feesWhat Relay charges to move each asset’s budget to its chain. Included in the budget.
Price marginRoom above the asset’s value at the reference price, to cover the actual fill price. Unused budget on Robinhood Chain is returned.
Purchase fee1% of the amount you put into Belief assets, paid on top of that amount. The help text shows how Tropic and the authors split it; the split does not add to the fee you pay.
Network feesThe most this purchase reserves for network fees: the order network fee, plus whatever tops up the prepaid exit network fee. The order network fee is charged at its actual cost and the unused part returns to your cash. After the purchase completes, the prepaid exit network fee stays reserved for selling everything later.
Sale feeThe rate charged on the proceeds when you sell later.

If an asset’s expected purchase cost is more than 5% above its value at the reference price, the app shows the difference before the order and places it only after you agree. At 10% it warns of the price difference again and asks for a second confirmation. The review shows a live quote that expires after about a minute.

When a purchase includes assets on Ethereum, BNB Chain or Solana, it completes in stages over several minutes: your budget moves to each chain, the vault on each chain buys the assets, and the purchase is then recorded on Robinhood Chain. The Belief page shows the order’s progress. Your signed transaction can be confirmed while the purchase is still in progress.

The purchase is complete only when every chain has finished. Until it is recorded on Robinhood Chain, you can cancel it. A cancellation works like this:

  • The purchase fee is refunded in full.
  • Budget that has not been spent is returned.
  • Assets already bought are sold at market prices.
  • You pay the network fees the order and its cancellation actually used.

So a cancelled purchase can return less than you paid. If the purchase also entered a Battle and the entry went through, cancelling the purchase does not take you out of the Battle: the entry settles under the Battle’s rules. To stop it, leave as described in Leaving and refunds.

Network fees depend mostly on the chains and the number of assets involved, not on the amount, so they take a larger share of a small purchase.

Open the holding in Portfolio, select Sell, and choose how much to sell: 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, or your own amount.

  • The sale sells that share of every asset in the holding. You cannot sell or withdraw a single asset.
  • The review shows the expected net amount and the minimum proceeds for each asset.
  • When every asset is sold, the 1% sale fee and the network fees are deducted and the USDG goes to your cash.

Your holdings in one Belief share one prepaid exit network fee. On each purchase, Tropic re-estimates the network fee for selling the whole holding and tops up only what the existing deposit lacks. Selling everything uses what it actually needs from the deposit and returns the rest. A partial sale leaves the deposit alone and pays its network fee out of the proceeds.
